What is Survey Junkie?
Survey Junkie presents itself as a survey site and at first glance it appears to be exactly that.
Under this concept, you basically earn money by completing surveys. The idea isn’t an unusual one and there are many other sites that do the same thing. Indeed, I’ve written multiple survey reviews in the past and there are a lot of similarities between individual survey sites.
Nevertheless, there are some differences too and these make some sites better choices than others.
This Survey Junkie review takes a look at where Survey Junkie fits into the mix and whether it is worth trying out for yourself.
Survey Junkie Reviews
When I looked at the various Survey Junkie reviews, I found a few interesting things.
The first was that reviews were mixed. Many reviewers had a fairly negative opinion of the site, while some others said that it was okay as a way to earn money, as long as you aren’t expecting too much.
Some of that difference in opinion simply comes down to expectation. For example, as a general rule, survey sites don’t tend to pay that well. Typically, you’ll be making well under the minimum wage and you lose a decent amount of time by getting screened out of surveys.
As a result, survey sites are never going to be a great source of income. Nevertheless, if you’re just looking for a little bit of extra money here and there, then they can be okay. After all, surveys aren’t especially difficult to complete.
The other interesting thing is that most people talked about the actual surveys on the site.
When I used the site, I was given any surveys at all. Instead, the site simply directed me to a page to sign up for surveys from different companies.
The reason for the difference isn’t clear.
On one hand, it’s possible that the site simply didn’t like my geographical area and didn’t let me progress to the next part of Survey Junkie. Alternatively, it’s also possible that the site simply isn’t functioning anymore.
Survey Junkie itself has been online since around 2005 and many of the Survey Junkie reviews are at least a few years old. Additionally, surveys have become increasingly less powerful as time has progressed. As a result, the sites have become less popular and offer lower rewards for members.
Those patterns could have easily been enough to stop Survey Junkie from being effective for the people behind it.
But, at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter.
At the worst, Survey Junkie simply doesn’t work anymore and just points you to other survey sites.
At the best, then it’s just a fairly standard and unimpressive survey site. For example, some Survey Junkie reviews suggest that it can take months to cash out even once.
Now, in part, how fast you earn money would depend on who you are.
Survey sites are based on demographics and some groups of people are targeted more than others. So, some people will end up getting more surveys and will be less likely to get screened out than others.
It’s also worth noting that the site does have an affiliate program. This means that some of the Survey Junkie reviews out there will probably be biased and may make the site sound better than it actually is.
Benefits and Advantages
As with other survey sites, the biggest advantage of Survey Junkie is simply that the model is legitimate. So, you can earn money doing surveys and some people do.
Now, it isn’t clear whether you can still earn money directly from Survey Junkie or if the site is simply recommending others. But, at the end of the day, the outcome is the same either way.
After all, there aren’t that many differences between survey sites and even the best ones mean that you earn relatively little per hour and get screened out of surveys as you go.
Issues with Survey Junkie
Personally, I hate the fact that Survey Junkie tries to get you to sign up to other survey sites. Finding this type of site isn’t hard and there is no shortage of lists and recommendations online.
Yet, Survey Junkie makes it sound like they have a great list that can really help you earn money.
If you wanted to make as much money as possible from surveys alone then yes, you would want to sign up to as many sites you could.
However, you’d still want to focus on good ones. Additionally, trying to manage multiple survey sites can be a major hassle and your income potential still isn’t very high.
At the same time, there are many issues connected with surveys in general, including the problem of time versus income and the fact that you never really earn much.
One other issue is that you simply have no control.
Any income that you do make comes from the survey site and you don’t even have much influence on the number of surveys you get. Additionally, most survey sites retain the right to cancel the account of any member.
So, you can easily lose your account and income potential overnight.
Is Survey Junkie a Scam?
For the most part, no, Survey Junkie isn’t a scam. Even if the site really is just referring you to other survey sites, the underlying concept is legitimate.
The problem simply is that the idea might be legitimate but that doesn’t mean that it’s good.
Can You Make Money With Survey Junkie?
As with other survey sites, the answer to this question is ‘yes, but’. You can actually see this in Survey Junkie reviews too and I talked about this earlier as well.
Basically, you can make some money through surveys but it’s never going to be a lot. Even if you’re extremely efficient, you probably wouldn’t even get close to earning the minimum wage. Plus, you often just end up having a few surveys to do per day or even week – and you would get screened out of some of those.
My Personal Survey Junkie Review
At the end of the day, survey sites are always going to be limited and they’re never a good way to make money.
This comes down to basic supply and demand.
For one thing, there aren’t that many companies that research information from customers this way anymore. After all, the system isn’t a particularly efficient way to learn about your customers, especially as many people lie when taking surveys.
At the same time, there are a lot of people online trying to make quick income. So, you end up with lots of demand and hardly any supply. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that survey sites pay so little.
However, there are ways to make money online that do actually work and have long-term potential.
One of the best options is a method called affiliate marketing. Here, you use the internet as a tool to promote products from different companies. In doing so, you direct people to sites where they can buy and earn a commission from any sales.
As an approach, affiliate marketing does involve more work than doing surveys but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Indeed, if you want to build any type of business to make money in the long-term, then you will have to put in time and energy.
Affiliate marketing is significant as this is something that you can turn into a full-time business. It also works in well with supply and demand, as you are providing valuable information that customers are interested in, while also offering a service that companies want (i.e. marketing).
