An Introduction to Perfectly Posh
Perfectly Posh is one of many companies that promote body products to women, while also providing a way to make money.
On paper, this type of company tends to sound amazing, partly because you can make money selling products you’re passionate about. So, in this Perfectly Posh review, we’re going to take a look at what’s actually involved in making money and how realistic it actually is.
How Perfectly Posh Works
Perfectly Posh is just one example of a direct sales company. This type of company relies on members, which are typically called something like consultants, distributors or independent business owners.
Regardless of the title, the role of members tends to be the same. So, you promote the products and try to make sales. Ideally, consultants also aim to recruit other people into the company.
The general structure here is called MLM, which is short for multi level marketing. That structure will be a key focus of this Perfectly Posh review.
The idea here is twofold. One part is selling the products, the other part is recruiting others. Both of these tasks are entirely achievable.
But… they can also be more challenging than they first appear.
So, the best way to figure out whether a MLM is a good way to earn money is to look at recruitment and also look at the products. Each of these areas plays a key role in whether or not the company is worth pursuing.
Getting Started with Perfectly Posh
The cost of signing up for Perfectly Posh is around $99, although shipping and tax are added onto that price. This joining fee is somewhere in the middle for other MLMs and direct sales companies.
For example, I’ve seen some companies that charge $149 or more to join, while there are other companies whose lowest fee is around $20. Now, in fairness, you do get a decent amount for the price.
Specifically, joining the company involves buying a starter kit. That kit looks like this:
If you really do like the products from Perfectly Posh, then the starter kit may be appealing. In fact, I’ve known people who joined this type of company specifically for the starter kit, because it’s cheaper than buying each item individually.
So, in terms of what you get for the price, the kit isn’t horrible.
Still, it’s an immediate expense that you need to pay and it is a significant amount of money.
The Product Selection
A huge part of any MLM is the product selection, which is why I'm looking at the products in this Perfectly Posh review.
To make money, you need to sell products and, if you have one, your team needs to do likewise. So, if you want to be able to make money, you have to be promoting products that actually sell.
Is that the case with Perfectly Posh?
First off, let’s be clear. Perfectly Posh promotes itself as selling pampering products, specifically ones made with natural ingredients.
This includes options like hand cream, face masks, conditioner and a range of other products.
This type of selection is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, pampering products are fairly popular, regardless of the economy. After all, we all like treats from time to time, even when money is tight.
But, on the other hand, there is no shortage of similar products on the market. You can chemical-free pamper products from a lot of different places, including craft fairs, specialty shops and even grocery stores. And, that’s not counting the sheer number of similar products on offer at Amazon and Etsy.
So, what does Perfectly Posh have that makes it so special?
I guess it really depends on perception. For example, these are some of the products:
There isn’t anything exceptionally unusual about this selection. To be honest, the products are what you would expect from pretty much any company specializing in pamper products.
The price is one appealing thing though.
This does come down to personal opinion a bit but many of the prices for Perfectly Posh’s products aren’t too bad.
Certainly, there are many examples of cheaper products out there. But, these prices aren’t horrible, especially not compared to other MLMs. And, if you’re trying to make sales, low prices and appealing products are a good way to go.
There are many people out there that would expect to pay this much for the types of products that Perfectly Posh offers, so that does increase your odds of making repeat sales.
Perfectly Posh Product Reviews
As I mentioned above, the products from Perfectly Posh don’t really look that unique.
However, for this type of product, appearances aren’t everything. Instead, people tend to make their decisions based on how the product makes them feel and how it interacts with their skin.
We can’t tell that simply by looking at pictures of the products. Instead, the best way is to see what actual users think.
The catch is that it’s always hard to find legitimate reviews of products from a MLM.
Often, you’ll find that consultants intentionally leave glowing reviews on a product, making it tough to tell whether the item is any good. Likewise, on sites like Amazon, you’ll often find reviews like this:
That rating might suggest the product is pretty bad but there is a decent amount of bias in the reviews.
For one thing, many reviewers are upset that the product is being Amazon.
Additionally, this particular product seems to get some bad reviews because of how it’s marketed. The Amazon listing puts this as a mask, which implies that you should use it on your face. That marketing has led to some pretty intense reviews.
But, as other reviewers have commented, the product isn’t actually designed to be used on the face. With these issues, it’s pretty hard to tell whether the product is any good or not.
Other products sold on Amazon also face issues with reviews. For example, this product looks horrible but the majority of reviews are just people complaining about it being sold on Amazon.
I did spend some time looking online for Perfectly Posh reviews that actually considered the products and I found a few, like this site here. However, in most cases, the positive reviews sounded far too much like a sales pitch.
In some cases, they even had a link through to the writer’s own Perfectly Posh store.
So, at the end of the day, there is no way of being certain whether or not the products are any good.
To be honest, I imagine that most of them are pretty decent. After all, it’s pretty hard to go wrong with pampering products anyway and I can imagine people convincing themselves that the products on offer are wonderful.
But, regardless of whether these are good or bad, they’re far from unique.
As I mentioned earlier, there really is no shortage of similar products on the market. You may find some people that love these but many people may already be loyal to other brands.
Perfectly Posh and Perks
One interesting thing about Perfectly Posh is the perks system. This appears to be a loyalty program that the company offers that lets both customers and consultants earn a range of different rewards.
There are a range of ways to earn the points, although most are connected to buying products.
As a loyalty program, that pattern isn’t too surprising and would probably be appealing to a lot of people.
Now, most of the bonuses do seem to be discounts or samples, although if you save enough points, getting products for free also appears to be possible.
The Perks system appears to be completely separate from the idea of making money through Perfectly Posh, which is why I bring it up as part of our discussion on products.
The system is interesting because of the fact that customers can be a part of it.
As a general rule, loyalty programs can encourage purchases, especially because people are earning points for buying things consistently. So, this program may make it easier for you to get customers to buy products from you on a regular basis.
The Compensation Plan
The products from Perfectly Posh may be somewhat appealing but I can’t really say the same about their compensation plan. Instead, for the most part, Perfectly Posh follows the same general approach that countless other MLMs use.
One key aspect of this is the idea of rank. So, there are a range of different ranks, starting from Protégé and going to Platinum Premier.
The idea is to increase in rank over time, with each rank offering better chances for commission. This includes a higher level of base commission and also commissions from the people you recruit.
For example, at the first rank (Protégé) you earn 20% commission on sales. At the next rank up (Pink) you earn 25% commission.
At the rank after that (Pink Plus 1) you earn 26% commission on sales, along with 2% from any Protégées in your team, 1% from any Pinks and 1% from any Pink Plus 1s.
You can see the full breakdown here.
The general idea is that higher ranks mean more commission. Likewise, the larger and more successful your team is, the more money you make.
Because the percentages from your team are all fairly small (mostly under 5%), you do need your team to be making a decent amount of sales for the process to be worth it.
In fact, this is one of the most significant challenges of a MLM.
Yes, there is the potential to make a lot of money from this system but only if you can get into the higher ranks and get a decent team behind you.
In practice, most people don’t manage to do this. After all, the process of recruitment is no easy feat. Most of the people you know won’t have the time, money or passion to make a business like this work. Additionally, some may have tried and failed in a similar company previously.
The other thing to note is that progressing up the ranks is tough.
Each rank has its own set of requirements, which are based on sales and on the people you recruit. For the same ranks, these requirements look like this:
This equates to a high amount of sales per month in the higher ranks. To be honest, I imagine most people would end up in the first or second rank, with some even making it into the third. But, beyond that, most people would struggle.
Here’s another catch, at every rank but the first, you have to buy $500 of product per month. That’s a lot of product. It’s easy to see how being part of this company could get expensive quickly.
The Company Itself
One final note that I want to make in this Perfectly Posh review is that the company doesn’t have the best reputation either. On the BBB site, Perfectly Plus currently has an F, which is the lowest possible rating.
In fairness, BBB ratings aren’t always an accurate reflection on businesses but a poor score is normally a cause for concern.
With Perfectly Posh, the issue seems to come from the company not responding to some of the complaints made against it.
From the complaints it’s also clear that the company has poor customer service, especially for people who aren’t consultants. Likewise, there are problems with actually delivering the products.
Poor customer service is never a good thing, especially if this is a company that you’re trying to make money from.
My Personal Perfectly Posh Review
Whether or not Perfectly Posh works for you will really depend on what you are looking for. So, I don’t have a single conclusion from this Perfectly Posh review.
For example, I know that some people would join as a consultant just for the starter kit and the discounted products. In fact, I’ve even talked to people who have done just that.
People in that position might make a few sales but that isn’t their real focus. So, if you really like the products that Perfectly Posh produces, this may be appealing for you.
But, this general technique isn’t going to be very effective for making an income.
The whole design of Perfectly Posh and its compensation plan means that you have to be fairly aggressive about selling and recruiting. A lot of people wouldn’t be willing to do this or simply wouldn’t have the social connections to pull it off.
As such, making a decent income with Perfectly Posh isn’t easy.
Realistically, you would have to get into the higher ranks of Perfectly Posh to make a living from the company and there are a number of requirements connected with doing so.
Not only do you have to buy a certain amount yourself each month but your team also has to hit various sales targets and you need a certain number of team members at different ranks.
That being said, the product selection and the Perks program does make this company more appealing than many others. Even with all the pamper products already on the market, what Perfectly Posh offers would be competitive, especially as the prices aren’t horrible.
As a MLM, Perfectly Posh is one of the better choices. The product selection is decent and would be appealing, plus, the items aren’t excessively overpriced.
But, at the end of the day, Perfectly Posh is still a MLM and has major limitations because of this. In practice, the model means that most people simply wouldn’t be able to turn this into a good way of making money.
After all, you have to be able to consistently make sales and recruit people into the company (who also need to be successful).
Even if you can make sales, most people fall down at the recruitment stage. After all, there aren’t all that many people with the time or the passion that you need to really be successful with this type of company.
Beyond all of this, Perfectly Posh isn’t a sustainable type of business. Even if you could grow a large enough team, you remain dependent on that team and on the company for your income.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like the idea of relying on a single company for income. In fact, one of the reasons that people look for alternative income options is to avoid that.
So, if you’re going to all the effort of creating a business of your own – make sure it actually is your own.
With that in mind, an alternative to Perfectly Posh is the idea of affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing still gives you the chance to make money by selling products but it puts you in control. In fact, you could even still sell pamper products if you wanted to.
The difference is that you are selling online via affiliate programs. This means that you don’t have to directly interact with or sell to people and you don’t have to recruit your friends and family either.
Instead, you use the internet to your advantage.
The end result is that you can create an online business with tremendous growth potential and you can pick the products that you promote.
You don’t need to buy a $99 kit or anything like that to get started either. Instead, the main thing that you need is just some training and you can get that through a site called Wealthy Affiliate.
This is a paid membership site that teaches you everything there is to know about affiliate marketing. But, it also has a free membership option and you don’t even need a credit card to sign up. In fact, you get to see the paid features in your first week, so there’s a lot that you can learn right from the beginning.
This is the perfect place to get started with affiliate marketing and it truly can teach you a lot.
