Is Lucktastic a Scam or a Way to Win?

February 8, 2017 By Vince 30 Comments

Lucktastic

As a general rule, I tend to take a fairly dim view of apps – including ideas like Lucktastic. In most cases, they make bold promises and simply don’t live up to them.

But, where does Lucktastic fit into all of that? Is it a good app or is Lucktastic a scam?

I didn’t have high hopes when I first started looking but based on my experiences, I wouldn’t call it a scam. Instead, the app can be a fun way to earn a little bit of money here and there.

That being said, the app would never be a great source of income. Instead, it’s simply a way to earn a little here and there, while having some fun in the process.

What is Lucktastic?

Lucktastic is a mobile app that offers you the chance to win through scratch off competitions. So, it’s a little bit like buying scratchies and seeing what you can win, except without the risk.

Scratch match

In fact, the app itself is free to use.

Exactly what you can win varies from one competition to the next. In some cases, the prize might be money but there are other prizes up for grabs as well.

Is Lucktastic a scam

Even if you don’t win money, you do get tokens. Once you get enough of them, you can then redeem the tokens at the site’s store for various gift cards.

Play for Real Rewards

Needless to say, you’re not going to win with the scratch offs every time. For that matter, you’ll lose more often than you win.

Still, most people (including myself) earned a dollar or two early on, along with the tokens that add up over time. So, the chance is there.

And really, that’s not too bad when you consider that the app is entirely free and easy to use.

You can also use those tokens to enter competitions, which basically provides you another chance to win some money.

Contest

Of course, these are competitions. So, your chance of winning depends on how many people enter. Lucktastic is also a free site – so you are probably competing against a large number of individuals.

This may make the odds of winning fairly low.

Still, the site is free and playing around on it doesn’t take much time at all. So, even the competitions could be worth the effort.

Is Lucktastic a Scam?

According to the marketing, the company has paid out upwards of $3 million, including a number of people who won $10,000 cash.

Over $3 million

There isn’t any way to prove whether or not that figure is real. However, the number of testimonials and positive reviews suggest that at least some people earn money.

For example, there are many positive reviews for it, although most people are only making little bits of money.

Lucktastic reviews

Why Does It Exist?

The idea of getting something for nothing sounds great and that’s exactly what the site promises. This may be one of the key reasons that the site feels like a scam.

But, it’s not.

In particular, the company itself is still making money. They do this through ads.

Specifically, you need to view an ad to earn tokens or play the games. Those ads earn the company money. Because the company has such a large number of members – Lucktastic would make much more than it spends.

The ads aren’t nearly as annoying as you might expect either. Many sites bombard users with ads but you don’t see that with Lucktastic. Instead, the ads are tolerable, especially when you consider the fact that the entire site is free.

From the perspective of a member, the site can be a good way to earn a little money and, if you’re lucky, perhaps earn a lot.

A More Viable Alternative

Designing a website

Lucktastic is fairly casual fun and it’s nice to have the chance to win money without having to invest it. Still, there’s no shortage of such options out there and even survey sites and the like can be casual ways to earn some income.

But, what if you want something more?

Well, an alternative option is making money through sites. This is something that I do and countless others.

This isn’t just a chance process either. Instead, I learned from experts about how to create a successful online business and I now teach others the same. If you want to learn more about this, then you can check out my #1 Recommendation.

Through that approach, you will learn how to do the following:

  • Choose a profitable topic
  • Develop you own website and profit
  • Earn money through that site (there are multiple possible methods)

You also get considerable support from a community of like-minding people and a range of tools that can make everything easier and more achievable.

The end result is that you have a much more realistic way of making money and something that you can grow into an efficient business. For those willing to put in the time to build their own business, it really is worth trying out.

Final Opinion

Lucktastic is free to use and, for the most part, it does live up to the claims that surround it. It certainly isn’t a way to earn money quickly or easily but it isn’t designed to be either.

Instead, unless you got extremely lucky, the app is a simple enough way to pass the time and to have a little fun. The app is also safe, so you’re not risking anything by giving it a try.

But, if you have had a different experience, please let me know in the comments below.

Finally, if you’re looking for a more realistic and long-term way to make money, then check out my #1 Recommendation.

About Vince

My name is Vince and I'm the face behind Don't Get Rich Quick. I have been fascinated with the idea of making money online for a long time, but there are so many scams that manipulate people. From my own experience, I've found that scammers can be extremely convincing. That was the inspiration behind this site, as I wanted to help make sure people don't waste money on scams and hype.

Very informative! I’ve never really liked those type of “do little things to get little money” type of apps. Some people say they get decent change from it, but I’d rather work on something that guarantees big returns rather than something little that guarantees in little returns. Decent for a time waster, but I’d suggest putting your energy into something more profitable than this.

What you say here about sums up what I feel too.

The app is good enough if you’re just trying to waste time but it’s unrealistic to expect much more than that from it.

Hey there, this was really interesting! I actually downloaded the app! Literally all you do is watch an ad and play a scratch card! If you match three symbols on the scratch card you earn money! It’s that simple! I actually earned a dollar in only a minute! Great content! If you have any more reviews on apps like this one please do let me know! Great content!

      Good on you.

I can see the appeal of the app, even though I don’t think I would use it personally.

    Hi Vince,
I’m not much for using “scratch offs”, but LuckTastic seems like it would be a legitimate choice for someone who is interested in this type of thing. It certainly isn’t for someone who is looking to make a living. Perhaps it is best suited for someone looking for a hobby that has the potential of earning them a couple of bucks here and there?
Watching videos or looking at ads appears to be easy work, but it does take time and to earn anything worth writing home about, it looks like you would have to spend A LOT of time watching MANY videos.
I am much more interested in learning more about your number one recommendation. Wealthy affiliate looks like it would be a good fit for me. I am a newbie. Will the training be enough to help me create and build a successful online business?
    Thanks!

To me, Lucktastic only seems appealing if you want something to do while you are waiting around or watching TV. Certainly, it would be a waste of time to use it as an active means to make money.

As for Wealthy Affiliate, yes, the training is specifically designed for beginners, so it will give you the information you need to be successful. At the same time, the community is a great help and can provide you considerable direction about the best approaches to take.

Man I’ve been playing Lucktastic for months now. I think I haven’t been the luckiest person because I’ve got cero rewards from the game. I must say that it is a bit entertaining, but it is not a solid way to make money online. I’m willing to try your recommendation, though. I’m anxious to start an online business and make a living of it.
    Thanks for sharing this review!

I suspect those rates aren’t uncommon. Realistically, the more popular the app gets, the lower the chance of making money through it.

That is one reason why I prefer approaches like affiliate marketing, which my #1 Recommendation teaches. At least with that idea, people operate in many different fields. So, you’re not directly competing with most the people who are learning with you. That means much more potential for success overall.

As you mention in the comments Lucktastic is a kind of lottery and I am never lucky in any lottery 🙂 so I guess this is not for me… I prefer hard working to achieve long-term and substantial results instead of relying solely on luck. So your recommendation one seems to be more suitable for people like me. You mention to choose profitable topic – how to know which topic is profitable?

Yeah, luck is a big part of it and most people won’t get anywhere.

As for choosing a profitable topic to make money online, one way is to look for areas that have associated products and people are interested in. Likewise, think about products or services that are likely to be purchased online. For example, you probably wouldn’t want a website that reviews chocolate that can be purchased in a store. If you did, many visitors would just apply what they learned to their next shopping trip, rather than buying through you.

Since it is a free site the risk is zero. However you are spending time on this venture, which in itself is a valuable commodity.
How long on average does entering and completing on of the competitions take?
Since there are so many contestants spending a lot of time on something with such low odds it doesn’t appear worth it.

Actually doing the competitions seems to take hardly any time. There is a catch though. You have to watch videos to be able to enter. The time involved with that aspect would add up fast, especially as you may have videos that are 60 or so in length. That type of design can get annoying fast.

Great review Vince. This would be a great app for people addicted to gambling. I can see the appeal to this since it’s free to join. But you’re right, this app would be great for people who just want to pass the time. I used to do surveys and such for extra change, but quickly realized that starting a legit online business was the best way to go.

For passing the time, sure, the app works. And, it would even be fun.

But yes, to make decent money online, you really do have to start a business. The way I promote isn’t the only approach that works. But, it is a particularly powerful one and works well for beginners.

Thank you for this review! You answered all of my questions and were able to calm my doubts which s great. I love that the app is free to use and I might download it in my free time!

Again, thank you for providing unique insight. I am also a part of your #1 recommendation and if it means anything I 100% recommend the site as well! Great opportunity and I wish everyone great abundance if they decide to join. It really is a unique and fun experience and way to earn extra money.

Realistically, Lucktastic could work well for a bit of fun or a little income. But, yes, if you want to actually make extra money online, then something like my #1 Recommendation is a critical approach.

If nothing else, Lucktastic is a little like the lottery. Sure, you could potentially get rich. But, don’t count on it.

Good review, I had not heard of Lucktastic before. People do love programs that help them kill a lot of time. Especially if they can earn a little bit of money doing it. It makes them feel like they are being productive while they are wasting time.

Being a marketer, I’m wondering how effective is the advertising on this platform. Might be something to check out. Most any advertising can be effective if you find the right product for the audience.

I have some doubts about the effectiveness of advertising via Lucktastic – although I suppose it would depend on what you were promoting. One issue if that you’re promoting to an audience that is trying to get something for free. So, they’re not likely to want to spend much money or to put considerable effort into anything.

Your review of Lucktastic was interesting and explained the concept; which seems to be pretty much like buying lottery tickets (which I don’t do) Of course, it sounds like you don’t pay anything out to get your chance to win; is that right? If this is the case; then it may be a good thing for people who like to gamble without losing their money.

In any case I like your #1 Recommendation. Wealthy Affiliate may take a while but you learn something new every day.

    Thanks for a good review.

The main appeal would simply be that the app is free. If nothing else, this does mean that you can’t lose money.

Still, it would probably get annoying fast, especially as you have to watch ads before you scratch each card.

I had never heard of Lucktastic before I read your post. It is a very interesting idea and your review of the application is very thorough.

I can see myself sitting at the airport plugging away at this, just for fun. Much easier than playing scratch tickets and the fact that it’s free, makes it even better.

I would not mind if you gave a couple of examples of the gift cards available and the amount they are worth.

It kind of feels like the Publisher’s Clearing House site, though a lot less annoying. I will most likely give it a shot at some point.

The main way to cash out appears to be via a service called Dwolla, which does have a relatively good reputation. It looks like the company is also allowing some types of gift cards, including Amazon or Best Buy but you would have to get more points to cash out this way.

It’s also worth noting that you do still have to watch ads to do the scratch cards. So, the process isn’t as simple as it may appear. For many, it still would be fun though. And, if nothing else, it’s probably worth trying to find out for yourself.

Is Lucktastic global? What are the odds of winning anything? How much time do you need to spend on it to win? IS it like a survey because surveys take a lot of time for little return? Are there other apps like this one? What kind of gift cards d o they offer? Does the marketing company app lucktastic have a customer service section? Sounds like a fun app to play once in awhile but not for serious income.

Wow, that’s a lot of questions. I’m not going to answer all of them, but I’ll focus on your main ideas.

The concept of Lucktastic is unusual. You do surveys and tasks to be able to scratch off the cards but, for the most part, the idea is like a game. There probably are similar apps out there, although I don’t know about any specifically.

Generally speaking, the odds of winning a decent amount of money are low. That’s no surprise, as you’re basically playing a lottery. You could earn a little money from the low prizes and accumulating points, which is the main idea. Still, you’re not likely to earn much money, unless you get exceptionally lucky. But, that is the very nature of the service and it would be unrealistic to expect anything else.

HI Vince, I have been hearing a lot about Lucktastic lately and pretty much blew it off. I really wasn’t all that interested in playing games but, after reading your review, Is Lucktastic a Scam or a Way to Win, I think I am going to give it a try.

I have tried online survey sites before and was very disappointed with the results. When I was excepted for the survey, which wasn’t very often, it was not fun at all.

Lucktastic sounds like a fun and easy way to earn some extra $ in those down times like waiting in the doctors office or chilling out in front of the tv,

I appreciate your honesty with this review. I would have not continued reading this if the first thing I read was some kind of “get rich quick” line of crap.

I am looking forward to reading more of your reviews and recommendations.

    Thanks Vince, I am convinced!

When it comes to Lucktastic, perhaps the best advice is to always treat it like a game, not an income opportunity.

You can win money from it and some people seem to have done just that. Likewise, you can cash out from time to time just from the tokens.

But, unless you get lucky, the potential to make money is very low indeed. So, if you went into the app expecting income – you would probably be disappointed. But, if your focus was on something fun to take up some time, the app could work.

I’ve never heard of Lucktastic before and it sounds like something great to try. I did see that one guy claiming he only won on the first day but I don’t know if that’s something that you can complain about when it comes to a game of scratch lottery tickets.
I can’t imagine someone playing it all day and hoping to get rich so why not use a spare moment to earn that dollar or two, wouldn’t you agree?

There is a good chance that the scratchies are a little bit rigged on the site. In particular, you may win in your first few goes regardless and after that it is all chance. That may be why many people seem to win early on and not again.

And honestly, most people are only ever going to win a little bit here and there – the very nature of the app guarantees that.

After all, most of the company’s income seems to come from ads and they need to earn more than they spend. So, there is a limit to how many people can win.

Still, for something fast, easy and a little bit fun, the app could be worth it. Just don’t expect to make a living from it.

I have no heard of this app before, but to be honest in my opinion, it is worth taking part.

It is free, so there is nothing to lose right?

I am not a big fan of gambling, and I never have luck when using scratch cards, but if they are free to use via this app then there is no harm in trying.

I wanted to ask, I live in Greece, so can I use this app also here and get the benefits?

Thanks, and great site by the way 🙂

Nothing to lose is probably the biggest appeal. Plus, unlike surveys, you’re not spending a ton of time in the process.

However, the app is regionally restricted. I believe it only works within the United States, which is fairly common for this type of option.
