Product Type: Internet Marketing Training
Scam or Not: Scam
Overall Rating: 1/10
Behind all of the hype, Autopilot Profits offers training in internet marketing, mainly through an eBook. The product creator, Ewen Chia, uses his considerable reputation to promote and sell the product but that certainly doesn’t prove the product is worth the effort.
If you visit the site for Autopilot Profits, the first thing that you’ll see is hype and a lot of it. In fact, even the name is hype because the concept of autopilot income always sounds amazing but doesn’t actually exist. A lot of the hype focuses on that concept of autopilot, along with the idea that you can make a lot of money.
Does that sound too good to be true?
Honestly, I have no idea why sites make claims that are this exaggerated. There is simply no way that any software could earn someone money like that, especially software that doesn’t involve any work.
So, what is Ewen Chia talking about?
Well, according to his sales pitch – he is talking about having your own personal ATM machines that constantly make you money.
He even claims that you don’t need a product, a website, a domain name or a hosting account.
Which begs the question, how is the whole thing supposed to work?
Well, the product itself currently costs $37 and you’re then put through a bunch of upsells that make similar claims to the original sales page. All of that is yet another example of manipulation.
When you get down to it though, the product itself is simply a document that’s around 60 pages in length. Most of the information in the document isn’t particularly revolutionary and some of it has even be outdated. There is also a members’ area but most of the information is similar and doesn’t make me any more encouraged about the training.
Benefits and Advantages
The only good thing about the site is that Evan Chia is actually a real person and he does have a reputation in the internet marketing field. He highlights this himself, talking about a bestseller book that he published (although, the book only has 100 reviews on Amazon, so it clearly wasn’t that popular).
It is encouraging that the site isn’t just using a fake name but at the end of the day, the difference means very little. Yes, Evan Chia probably has made a lot of money online. However, that doesn’t have any bearing on the product itself.
After all, lots of gurus are successful at making money online, largely because they manipulate consumers into spending money. If that’s the case, then a quality product is fairly unlikely. And, when it comes to this product, there certainly is an extensive amount of hype and manipulation.
It’s also worth noting that the internet marketing industry changes extremely quickly.
Because of this, there is no guarantee that a person who made money in the past still has good techniques today. In fact, the content of the eBook certainly suggests that Ewen Chia and Autopilot Profits are majorly out of date.
Issues with Autopilot Profits
While I hate the hype that surrounds Autopilot Profits, my biggest issues with the product are with what Ewen Chia actually teaches. As I mentioned before, most of his techniques are outdated and they simply wouldn’t work for making money in the modern internet marketing environment.
At the same time, the eBook also promotes some techniques that are black hat.
The term black hat refers to SEO techniques that go against Google’s Terms of Service or techniques that we know Google disapproves of. Black hat techniques are always a risk and they can often a lot of harm to your site.
Realistically, the only people that should even consider black hat techniques are experienced internet marketers, as they have the knowledge and skills to weigh up the risks versus rewards.
To make matters worse, Autopilot Profits itself is targeted at beginners – who should never be using black hat approaches.
Speaking of beginners, the product wouldn’t actually be a good choice for beginners. A lot of the information provided in the book assumes that people already have some knowledge of internet marketing, so many beginners wouldn’t be able to get anywhere with the product at all.
There is also one major final issue with the product – it’s not nearly as simple as the author claims. Honestly, that aspect wasn’t much of a surprise for me, as making money could never be as simple as the author argued.
In fact, the concept does actually focus on building a website. Now, a website itself is the most reliable way to make money online but only if you use good techniques. Very little of what Ewen Chia teaches would actually help you to make a good site and following his advice would be much like shooting yourself in the foot.
Besides, didn’t he claim that this was an easy autopilot way to make money?
Building and monetizing a website doesn’t really fall into that classification.
My Personal Autopilot Profits Review
Through Autopilot Profits, Ewen Chia makes a lot of claims and doesn’t deliver on any of them. Instead, he promotes ineffective techniques that would probably harm your website and certainly wouldn’t help you make money.
Despite the bad advice that Ewen Chia offers, the general idea of building a business with a website is legitimate. It’s even true that you can do this without a product of your own. In many ways, not having a product actually works better, as you then have the ability to good products that people are already interesting.
Through a website, it is possible to promote just about any type of product that you can imagine. For some people, this means that they can promote products that teach others how to make money online. Others might choose to focus on things that relate to their own personal passions, such as photography or nutrition.
With so many different products on the market, the choices for what an internet marketer can promote are pretty much endless. However, if you want to be successful in this field, the most important step is to get good training.
Ewen Chia’s product falls far short of that goal, but a much better training choice is a site called Wealthy Affiliate. Unlike Autopilot Profits, Wealthy Affiliate is honest about how you earn money and what you can expect. Additionally, Wealthy Affiliate has a free trial and even a free membership. This gives you the chance to figure out what the site offers and how it works before you spend any money on it.
